Vanity Fair Oscar Party
Los Angeles, California
And the Oscar goes to… Vanity Fair for including a sustainable element in the world’s most famous party at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in honor of the 91st Annual Academy Awards.
For the third year in a row, Repeat Roses was called upon to repurpose thousands of stunning stems to ensure none of McQueens Florists’ beautiful blooms went to waste when the partying came to a close.
It was our honor to restyle the event decor into petite bouquets of love and light and provide an immediate spot of joy for our California neighbors in need, including:
Half of the repurposed flowers were delivered to East Los Angeles Women’s Center (ELAWC), a center which advocates for survivors and their families affected by sexual, domestic, and intimate partner violence and HIV/AIDS. The staff delivers innovative, comprehensive, culturally-responsive services that build on a foundation of trauma-informed, evidence-based practices designed to heal, support, protect, and empower the communities they serve.
Fresh flower arrangements were also delivered to the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House, which is a "home away from home" for pediatric cancer patients and their families in Souther California. Accommodating 75 families each night, the house provides comfort, care, and support, creating a community where families can stay close to each other and receive the care they need.
And, lastly, flowers were enjoyed by community members at two different Alma Family Services locations, including The Wellness Center at the Historic General Hospital and Centro Estrella, an organization which provides a range of multilingual community-based services for individuals with special needs including emotional, physical and/or developmental delays as well as support for their families.
